A series of events were lined up for Vodafone (India) CEO – Marten Pieters’ day-long visit to the the M&G (Maharashtra & Goa) Circle on June 2. Livewire Events & Promos was appointed to manage the activities – his arrival at the airport, office welcome, employee rendezvous and store launch followed by a welcome party.

Speaking about the association between Livewire and Vodafone, Priyanka Roy Kapur, Director, Livewire Events & Promos said: “Vodafone is one of our long term clients and we have been servicing them for most of their event requirements. They needed an agency who along with being creative, knew the pulse of the company and at the same time who they could trust completely. So when it came to handling such a prestigious event – one for the CEO, we were an obvious choice.”

Adding further about the brief, Kapur said: “The brief given to us was to handle Mr. Pieters’ visit to the M&G Circle from his arrival to his departure. We had to ensure that he was given a big bang welcome and create a memorable day for him. The party in the evening was the highlight of the day.”

Each part of the visit was required to have a distinct flavor to it so the airport arrival saw a traditional welcome with hostesses and tutari players extending a royal welcome. This led to his grand welcome at the office with branded LED dhols and a fun flash mob by all the employees. This ended with welcome message drop downs and a souvenir for him.

The next phase was a rendezvous with all the employees anchored by the Business Head of M&G – Ishmeet Singh and the West Operations Director – B.P. Sing. With all the 10 zonal locations queued in through VC, a unique post office setup was put together with employees’ messages for Pieters in 3D envelopes. Early evening saw a store being inaugurated by Pieters and the day ended with the much awaited informal welcome bash.

The theme for the bash was ‘Rock n Roll with Marten Pieters’ where the senior management was introduced through a series of ramp walks, all dressed up in their respective ‘old style rock’ avatars. This was followed by a standup comic act and rock band performance.

Commenting on the challenges faced in execution, Kapur said “The main challenge was to ensure that every phase of the visit was managed to take care of Mr. Marten Pieters’ likes and dislikes. We had to ensure that all the minutest of details were catered to right from the selection of the welcome song to the lunch and dinner menus to the décor, look, feel and tonality of each event. All at the same time ensuring that everyone else too had a great time!”
